Jason Corbett was good enough to join us for SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game. He was one of the game designers! Previously, he provided valuable insight into our favorite Superman game, DC’s Justice League: Cosmic Chaos, so we were happy to have him in the commentary booth for Patrick Star times. Also: Patrick Star is a living mayhem simulator, so it was a fun night for all the wanton destruction, too.

- Good day and welcome our all-star cast of fanboymaster, Chromes, BEAT, Cassandralyn, Caithness, and me actually playing the game. Saying again for people that just jump straight to the notes and dodge the introduction, we are joined by one of the game designers this evening, the venerable Jason Corbett. Additionally, we wind up with some cool notes in the chat from Equinox Fracture, the sound designer. Get ready to learn about vacuum sounds!
- “If it’s fun, then it’s fine.”
Patrick explores Glove World opposite a discussion on the history of SpongeBob SquarePants (the show, not the guy).- Ample Vigour joins as we examine underwater campfires and coyote time.
- Yes, I do manage to combine a cardboard box and vacuum cleaner to reach the underside of the universe.
- “I was messing around when I said you were going to be defacing Michaelangelo’s David.”
- Sandy encourages Patrick to clean up goop all over town. Apparently, goop was originally going to be fire, but… Well… Issues.
- As we hit the Rage Room, it is revealed that Nintendo Switch Nickelodeon protagonists do not get shadows.
- We throw Patrick out of a plane with zero remorse.
- Caithness and Ample Vigour bow out simultaneously while we are still testing the skydiving potential of Patrick.
- Shooting targets for SpongeBob leads to cries of, “More physics!”
- Traversing the dump brings us to the realization that Beavis : Butt-Head :: Patrick Star : SpongeBob.
- Patrick runs the boatmobile safety course while discussing eras of SpongeBob/Fred’s leg.
Makin’ Krabby Patties and discussin’ the strange dimensions of cartoon structures.- Apparently this game can be conquered in 22 minutes. We might never hit that mark, but we are having fun with our hours of Patrick play/chaos.
- After Patrick takes a nap back at home, we wrap up with a very special meal for Squidward.
